Our Story
From Yemen to Bay Ridge — A Story Told Through Food
Family recipes, slow-cooked traditions, and warm hospitality — serving halal Yemeni cuisine on 5th Avenue in Brooklyn.
Yemenat was born from a simple belief: the food of Yemen deserves to be tasted the way it was meant to be — slow-cooked, deeply spiced, and shared with warmth.
Our kitchen opens every day to the scent of toasted cumin, fresh-baked malawah, and lamb roasting low and slow. We don't cut corners. Our saltah is served bubbling in a traditional stone pot, crowned with hulba and sahawiq made from our family's recipe. Our haneeth is rubbed with a blend of Yemeni spices and roasted until the meat falls apart. Every dish is halal, every plate is honest, and every meal is made the way it's been made in Yemen for generations.
We're proud to bring this tradition to Bay Ridge — a neighborhood that knows good food when it tastes it. Whether you're dining in, picking up takeout, or ordering delivery across Brooklyn, Yemenat is your table.

Loved by Brooklyn
Real reviews from real diners.
“The saltah here is the real deal — hulba on top, perfectly spiced meat, and fresh bread. Best Yemeni food I've had outside of my grandmother's kitchen.”
